Cut your own Christmas Tree
It's good for the forest

The Thanksgiving leftovers aren't even gone yet, but holiday tree-cutting season is in full swing here in the national forests of Plumas County. Start the festive season off with a venture into the woods to christmas tree cuttingpick out your perfect Christmas Tree.

The smell of fragrant evergreen is sure to put you in the holiday spirit!  There are a plethora of trees to be found while exploring well-maintained backroads and suggested routes.

You'll actually be helping to prevent wildfires by cutting the overgrown firs which can propel flames. Firs are also better for hanging your ornaments, rather than those bushy trees you get at most tree farms. Best of all, you can get a good-sized tree of any species in the forest for a mere ten bucks! Be sure to dress appropriately, check the weather, and bring along a map and refreshments! Cut Tree
