PCT: Bucks Lake, Summit & Spanish Peak

This 16.9-mile loop near Quincy, California, offers a rewarding overnight backpacking trip filled with scenic variety. Starting near Bucks Lake, the trail winds along the shoreline before ascending through dense forest to connect with the Pacific Crest Trail. The final climb to Spanish Peak rewards hikers with sweeping views of Mount Lassen, Bucks Lake, and the surrounding valley. Expect wildflowers in late spring and early summer, along with quiet trails and excellent backcountry fishing opportunities.
