A Day-to-Night Mountain Festival at Plumas-Eureka Ski Bowl

The Full Moon Ski begins in the morning and builds all the way into the night at Plumas-EurekaSki Bowl, located in Eureka State Park near Johnsville and Graeagle, California. This is a community-driven winter festival featuring daytime skiing, an uphill climbing skin race, and live music under the full moon.

Daytime Skiing & Rope Tow (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM)From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Plumas Ski Club will operate the rope tow!!!! (weather and snow conditions permitting)

  • Rope tow ticketing and information are available directly at plumasskiclub.org
  • Rope tow access is separate from event ticketing
  • Operations are dependent on weather and snow conditions

Music, Race Registration & Gathering (Starting at 3:00 PM)At 3:00 PM, the event transitions into the evening program.

Climbing Skin Race (4:00 PM | Weather Permitting)At 4:00 PM, the uphill climbing skin race begins.
This is a pure ascent race—no lifts, no downhill advantage. Racers climb the mountain under their own power using climbing skins, snowshoes, or their boots, competing on endurance, pacing, and technique. It is fast, demanding, and highly watchable from the base.

  • Uphill climbing skin race. Ski, Snowboard, or bootpack(must be carrying skis ora snowboard for 16+ race)
  • 1 of 3 races in the season series
  • Points awarded toward an end-of-season World Champion
  • Race tickets are non-transferable and included in the event price.

Important:
All race activities depend on snow and weather conditions. If snow conditions prevent a race, the race will be canceled, but the event and music will continue.

  • Final race of the series
  • Championship points on the line



Prizes & Championship PointsPrizes will be awarded at each race to top finishers in the following categories:

  • 18+ Men
  • 18+ Women
  • Under 18 Men
  • Under 18 Women
  • Under 16 Men
  • Under 16 Women

Each race awards points toward the season-long standings. Points accumulated across all three races determine the overall World Champion in each category.
