5080 Camp for Artisans & Crafters – Round Base Willow Basket

Baskets are everywhere, but have you ever considered the history, skill, and craftsmanship of making one by hand? In this two-day workshop, you will learn the traditional art of European-style willow basketry as you weave a functional and beautiful round basket from start to finish.

Basketry is one of the oldest crafts in human history, practiced by cultures worldwide. Willow, a remarkable plant, has long been used to twine, bind, and connect us to the land, to each other, and to cultural traditions. After this workshop, you’ll never look at a basket the same way again.

What You’ll Learn:
  • How to weave a round-base willow basket from start to finish (Pack baskets or other base shapes are not covered in this workshop.)
  • Traditional weaving techniques to create a strong and lasting basket

Workshop Fee:   $360

Tools and supplies included.

Lunch and snacks are provided, too!
