Longboards Racers

World Championship Longboard Races- Jan.

The Plumas Ski Club invites skiers, and the public to the Annual Historic Longboard Races held on the third Sunday of each month in January, February, and March at Plumas-Eureka Ski Bowl in Johnsville--home to the first downhill skiing competition in the western hemisphere, starting in 1861. There is a nominal charge to race, leather boots are required, and period-appropriate dress is encouraged. Spectators will enjoy food, music, and drink in addition to the exciting races. Spend the day at the birthplace of ski racing for a truly unique Plumas County experience!

Want to race but do not have the equipment? Rentals are available from the Plumas Ski Club. A limited quantity of Ski Club Skis are available. They are rented on a first-come, first-served basis. Fee $20.
