Feather River Camp. Operating since 1924, a vacation destination for families, children and adults seeking relaxation, recreation, fun and friendship. Operated by Camps in Common with an agreement with the City of Oakland. This 50-acre site is located in the Plumas National Forest just outside of Quincy. Week-long family and youth camps offer plenty of activities for everyone at every age - arts and crafts, games, nature hikes during the day. (510) 336-2267
Shaffer's High Sierra Summer Camps Summer camp is for kids 9 to 16 and offers a traditional camp program but with an emphasis on noncompetitive, largely team-based wilderness adventure activities. Walton's Grizzly Lodge. This summer camp for children ages 7-14 is located on a secluded, 50-acre forested site with a private lake near Portola. Founded in 1926, it is run by third-generation camp directors. Two-week sessions include water skiing, windsurfing, fishing, sailing, ropes course, horseback riding, arts and crafts, campfire programs, archery, air rifle, and sports such as volleyball, softball, soccer, tennis, golf and gymnastics.
