boiling springs lake in northern california

Boiling Springs Lake Loop

Boiling Springs Lake has several steam vents that maintain the water temperature at approximately 125 degrees Fahrenheit. The mud pots on the southeast shore are among the park’s best attractions.

The trail to the lake crosses a meadow and winds through a forest. Visitors can see a variety of trees, including incense cedar, ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, white fir, and sugar pine. This area is also rich in wildflowers, making it an excellent spot for birdwatching.
