Collins Pine Trail Chester, Ca

Collins Pine Trail Loop

Discover the beauty of nature along the Collins Pine Trail, where 12 interpretive markers illuminate the rich landscape. The brochure available at the trailhead, the Lake Almanor Chamber, and the Collins Pine Museum provides descriptions, and it can also be conveniently downloaded.

As you wander through this picturesque setting, take a moment to pause on one of the many benches scattered along the path. Here, you can soak in the breathtaking views and listen to the sweet melodies of native birds.

Renowned as a birding hotspot by eBird, the Collins Pine Trail invites you to explore 50 acres of diverse habitats. Experience the enchanting mix of second-growth woodlands filled with deciduous and evergreen trees. Keep an eye out for the impressive Sugar Pine tree located at marker seven, as these majestic trees are rarely found in the flats of Chester.

The trail also leads you through tranquil grassy floodplains, meandering channels, and serene beaver ponds. Portions of the path follow the North Fork of the Feather River, which gracefully flows into the stunning Lake Almanor. Embark on this journey to connect with nature and create unforgettable memories!
