Tucked away just off Highway 89 near Crescent Mills, this short but scenic 0.3-mile out-and-back trail offers a quick adventure to one of Plumas County’s hidden gems. The trail winds through a shaded forest alongside Indian Creek, descending slightly to a viewpoint of Indian Falls—a small but beautiful cascade set against a backdrop of mossy rocks and tall evergreens.
While brief, the trail has a few rocky and uneven sections that can be slippery, especially after rainfall, so tread carefully. Interpretive signs along the way provide insight into the native trees and local ecology. At the base of the falls, you’ll find a peaceful swimming hole with a small sandy area that makes for a refreshing summer stop.
Whether you’re stretching your legs during a scenic drive or looking for a quick nature escape, Indian Falls is a rewarding detour.
