The Plumas Ski Club invites skiers and the public to experience the Annual Historic Longboard Races, held on the third Sunday of January, February, and March at the Plumas-Eureka Ski Bowl in Johnsville.
This iconic venue is the birthplace of downhill ski racing in the western hemisphere, dating back to 1861. Today, that rich history comes alive as racers compete on traditional longboards in a lively, family-friendly celebration of Plumas County’s ski heritage.

Enjoy a full day of excitement with historic ski races, plus food, music, and drinks in a festive mountain setting. Whether you’re racing or cheering from the sidelines, it’s a truly unique Plumas County experience.
Don’t Have Equipment? No Problem.
Longboard ski rentals are available through the Plumas Ski Club. A limited number of Ski Club skis are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
