Mill Creek Trail at Bucks Lake

Mill Creek Trail

by Shelley Hunter

Mill Creek Trail is an 8.8-mile out-and-back route near Meadow Valley, California, that gently climbs through lush forest along Mill Creek. This moderately challenging trail is popular with hikers and equestrians for its steady grade, shade, and tranquil surroundings. Expect to encounter ferns, moss-covered boulders, and the sound of the creek as you travel deeper into the forested canyon.

While it’s a well-known trail in the area, you can still find solitude, especially in the early morning or late afternoon. Wildflowers bloom in late spring, and the tree canopy offers a cool retreat during the summer months.
